Hailey in the kitchen cutting onions

Last night for dinner H wanted to help daddy. We always try to include her in preparing meals as much as we can she always has some sort of job. So last night she wasn't to help cut onions. My husband got her her own cutting board and kids knife and gave her a slice of onion to cut up. She had so much fun and loved helping.

Muffin tin Monday

Well we didn't follow a theme this week I am still trying to recover from vacation lol. But we did have a yummy muffin tin for dinner last night. H had sweet potatoes, steak, sauteed mushrooms and onions, toast, blueberries and grapes. We forgot the asparagus on the grill till mid dinner so she had that too but not in picture.

Homemade Picture frame

I let H pick out a wooden pre-painted shape and a wooden unfinished frame from Micheal's the other day. He picked yellow and pink to paint with which is her favorite colors and matched her wooden flower perfect. She was amazed to discover that when you mix pink and yellow it makes orange. At first she was trying to keep the colors separate and then once she noticed that if she mixed the two colors it made orange she just mixed away it come out looks so pretty. I was really surprised to see that she covered the entire frame. I figure there would be spots of unfinished wooden unpainted but she cover ever spot. A great project for only $1.49 plus tax and it come out beautiful and there was some great learning.

Painting figurines

Sorry we haven't been posting lately we have had family in town and then went on vacation. Now we are trying to get back into a routine again. I recently had a sleep over with 4 school age kids and went to Micheal's for some craft projects for the kids to do and found these little figurines. H had so much fun painting these. I did know this was so much fun she really and only 49 cents. All the older kids liked her outcome better then theirs. lol

Wordless Wednesday: summer fun

Potty training at night time

My daughter has been potty trained for about 4 months. I started letting her wear panties at nap first since it was shorter time and she did great. I just started night time, and discovered on the very first time I really do not enjoy changing sheets in the middle of the night. So I hear a great tip with a solution. I got a second waterproof mattress cover and I make the bed like normal then I make it again. So it is cover, sheet, cover, sheet. That way if she has an accident in the middle of the night I just take off the top to and it is already made again. One less thing I have to do when I am still half asleep.

Count down! Nana, Paw Paw and Uncle Jason are coming to visit

I totally spaced on uploading this. I so we only have 8 days left now, but better late than never. H is really really excited that my parents are coming to visit, and asks about it constantly so I made a countdown for her. I went to Lowe's and got paint samples in her favorite two colors pink and yellow, and added numbers. Everyday we take off a number but first we point and say each number and subtract. I will say, 'we have 14 days left" and she takes a number down and then I say "we took away one day and now we have 13 days left"
